2. Self administered Semaglutide (Ozempic) Injections

A new drug has come to the market that has changed the landscape of weight loss. This FDA approved drug was originally made and used for type II diabetics and sold under the name Ozempic. Semaglutide is a compounded version of the same drug with dramatic weight loss results. Semaglutide memics a hormone called glucagon-like-peptide-1 or GLP-1. GLP-1 targets areas of the brain that regulate appetite and food intake. This protein also decreases blood sugar leading to decreased inflammation. Studies have shown up to 15% total body weight loss using the GLP-1 analog. Below is a graph showing the percentage of body weight loss on Semaglutide vs a Placebo group.

Semaglutide acts in the following ways:

Delays stomach emptying leading to a feeling of fullness

* Increases satisfaction with smaller meal sizes

* Lowers blood sugars resulting in less inflammation
