A new drug has come to the market that has changed the landscape of weight loss. This FDA approved drug was originally made and used for type II diabetics and sold under the name Ozempic. Semaglutide is a compounded version of the same drug with dramatic weight loss results. Semaglutide memics a hormone called glucagon-like-peptide-1 or GLP-1. GLP-1 targets areas of the brain that regulate appetite and food intake. This protein also decreases blood sugar leading to decreased inflammation.
